Project Summary

As a devoted and loyal Porsche fan, choosing the legendary Porsche 935 K3 for my workshop was a natural step. This project perfectly combined my personal passion for automobiles with the exacting technical standards I set for myself in scale modeling. Several key reasons drove the decision to build this specific model:

A tribute to an automotive icon: For any Porsche enthusiast, the 935 K3—created by the Kremer brothers—is the ultimate "Holy Grail" of endurance racing and one of the most uncompromising, aggressive machines in motorsport history. Bringing such a legendary car to my workbench was simply the fulfillment of an automotive dream.

A test of modeling skills: As a modeler specializing in civilian and automotive subjects, I was looking for a project that would allow me to fully showcase my craftsmanship. With its distinctive body lines (the famous *Flachbau* or "flat-nose" design), massive spoiler, and complex racing liveries, the Porsche 935 K3 presented a formidable challenge, particularly regarding the paintwork. It demanded flawless assembly and a pristine paint finish—qualities I value most in civilian vehicle models.

DAY6

I took a relaxed approach to the project today. I applied a Mr. Hobby gray primer, followed by a Zeropaints black base coat, as well as Tamiya LP5 and X-6 on certain parts. I also did some prep work on the fire extinguisher. Soon, I’ll start working on the dashboard, the seat—which requires installing the seatbelts—and the roll cage.
