Test fitted the ProStudio gun crew into the Very Fire 1/700 IJN Takao Type 96 25 mm AA guns. This is indeed super challenging even with magnifiers. But I am very pleased to have done the transplant successfully. Will be painting the 1/700 gun crew next. Stay tuned!

This is Gaahleri's Airhub Pro. I love it as it is both excellent in form and function.
The base is CNC-machined from a single block of aluminium and finished with an anodised surface treatment, combining rugged durability with refined desktop aesthetics.
It supports up to 4 airbrushes simultaneously. Universally designed to hold securely, no matter the brand or body shape. Photo shows my set up to paint my 1/700 IJN Takao Heavy Cruiser. My go to airbrushes are Gaahleri Aventus Tailor Made for detailing work and Mobius TG 0.3/0.5 mm for wide spraying work like hull spraying.
Try it as it is cool to have to complement your current set up.

I don't have 50 shades of grey :) but these grey paints should be enough to post shade my 1/700 IJN Takao heavy cruiser as part of my weathering process.

Bringing out all some of my references to build a better model ship. References and research are important to me. It helps in story telling too.

Sorting out my supplies of IJN crew for 1/700 IJN Takao. There are hundreds of them here from Triumph Model, ION Model and ProStudio. It will take a while to paint them but it will be all worth it.

Did not have much time to work on the IJN Takao as I was busy preparing for a scale modelling workshop for cub scouts in Singapore. Anyways, this was what I did tonight.

[1/700 IJN Takao deck]
Someone asked how do I ensure small resin parts detached from the supports do not get lost and how to paint them. I use an ice cream stick, put double sided tape on it and then stick the parts in their relative positions on deck. Painting them this way is usually better than on the supports as the cage may block some angles. After painting, use a good pair of tweezers and glue onto deck with tiny bit of CA.

The deck on this Very Fire 1/700 IJN Takao is filled with details even before AA guns and figures are added. It will be a nightmare of masking if the deck parts were moulded onto the deck. I think it is more fun installing one by one. After weathering and a flat coat, it will look awesome!

Yesterday, I shared about deck parts that were smaller than ants. It looked like I pulled out the legs of ants or they looked like dumbells for ants. Today, I am pleased to share that I had successfully glued all of them on deck. Next will be easier, the ammo boxes. You may notice that painting these small parts to maintain the details require an airbrush with good trigger control and paint atomization. I think it is obvious which brand I am using. 😀

[1/700 IJN Takao Deck Parts] These vents on the deck are smaller than ants. Detaching them from the supports and cleaning up took quite a while. Happy none were lost.
