Hello friends and community!

I hope you’re all doing well!

This week, I continued working on the books for the cabinet, and this time it was all about the details. I started painting the individual book spines and added different ornaments and decorative elements using various colors, including gold and bronze tones.

The goal was to give the cabinet a little more life and character without breaking the overall desaturated mood of the project.

These small details add just enough variation to make the books feel like individual pieces rather than one large block of color, while still keeping them subtle enough not to distract from Cyclops and the visor.

I also worked on the coat rack. Here, I deliberately decided to keep the gold finish matte. Even though a shiny metallic finish could have looked impressive, I didn’t want this relatively unimportant piece to catch too much attention. The focus should remain on Cyclops and the visor, so keeping the gold muted helps it fit naturally into the scene without becoming a visual distraction.

Another small but important part I finally finished was the leg of the chess table. It’s always satisfying to complete one of those smaller elements that has been waiting in the background for a while. Step by step, more and more of the individual pieces are now coming together.

I’m really happy with how the overall atmosphere is developing. The project is slowly gaining more and more detail, while still maintaining that dark, desaturated library mood that I had in mind from the very beginning.

That’s it for this week’s update!

I’ll see you all next week, and as always, if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments.

Peace out!
