GWCC 2026 Project Update | Week 4 Progress is moving steadily! Little Red is coming together nicely. I've finished painting most of the details and the iconic red cloak is now complete. The next step is weathering, which should help bring everything together and give the build more character and story. The Big Bad Wolf is also taking shape. The main build is nearly finished, but I still need to complete the armor sections and move on to painting. Once those are done, I'll be able to start tying both characters together as part of the overall concept. Still plenty of work ahead, but it's exciting to see the project slowly coming to life. Looking forward to sharing more progress soon!

This week, I finally made a decision on one of the most important parts of my entry — the head. From the very beginning, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with a more traditional Little Red Riding Hood look or push the concept into a darker direction. After a lot of thinking (and a little experimentation), I decided to embrace the darker side of the story. Since my entry is a mix of fantasy and mecha, I wanted the character to feel like she has already gone through countless battles. I was able to finish painting the head and do some test fitting, and to add a bit more personality, I installed a red LED for the eyes. The glowing red eyes give her a more intimidating presence while still keeping the essence of "Little Red." I'm really happy with how it's turning out so far. The darker theme is slowly coming together, and I can't wait to start working on the armor pieces and weathering effects to tell more of her story. What do you think? This week, I finally started building Little Red — one of the main characters for my entry. ❤️ The base body is now done, and next I’ll be working on the armor parts and preparing everything for painting. Slowly but surely, the concept that started from my daughter’s drawing is beginning to come to life. For the head design… I’m still not fully sure yet Part of me wants to stick with a more traditional girl’s head, but another part of me wants to let my imagination go darker and more mysterious to match the atmosphere I’m aiming for. For now, I’ll continue building around this direction first, then see where the creative process takes me as I work on the armor and painting stages. After sharing the backstory behind this project, it’s finally time to reveal the kits that will help bring my daughter’s Little Red Riding Hood drawing to life. Every kit here was carefully chosen to match the vision I have for the build — from the silhouette, armor parts, details, and overall mood of the project. This will probably be one of the most emotional and meaningful builds I’ve ever worked on because it’s inspired by my daughter’s imagination. I asked my daughter if she could help me think of an idea for my GWCC entry, and she handed me this simple drawing of Little Red Riding Hood facing a wolf. At first, it was just a child’s sketch — imperfect, innocent, and full of imagination. But the more I looked at it, the more I realized it was more than just a drawing. It became a reminder of why I build in the first place. As hobbyists, we spend countless hours creating, painting, and chasing perfection. But sometimes, the most meaningful ideas come from the simplest moments shared with the people we love. This project became my way of connecting my passion for model building with the imagination of my children. Through this entry, I wanted to bring her little drawing to life while keeping the heart behind it untouched — a story born from family, creativity, and time shared together. More than a competition piece, this build is a memory between a father and his child.
