One of the fastest and brutal orks the universe has known, Skidnik Burnatyre, once again hops on his bike and soars the galaxy with his trusty biker gang through the warp. That bike has seen some things, believe me. I suppose we could say that technically it's the same bike he assembled -or nailed together- many, many years ago back at old Gutscrew Lusenut's mek barracks, but the truth is that so many modifications, additions, repairs, substitutions, patches, overhauls, improvemetns and replacements have been made over the years of travelling, fighting, shooting, stabbing and all that stuff the orks so much like, that little is left of that first bike. But tha radio has always been there, blasting greatest galaxy hits from Skidniks favourite bands like Megadeff, Manowaaagh or Gorko Priest (or was it Morko Priest?).
This for sure has been a journey, and I just love making ork stuff. Has been a great experience, loved every bit of it, and getting to be part of this community and seeing everyones work has been a blast.
See you in the next one!

As posts of painting were lost, I have grouped them up in this post.
In the first pics I am spraying a pink base coat for the upcoming yellows. (My army colors are yellow and purple). I don't mind the over spray as the base for the skin is going to be a purple and mostly metallics around it. Using the brush I place where I want the highlights and the first yellow layer is a yellow from the AK Quick Gen range. Over that I start building lighter layers of yellow where I had placed the highlights trying to achieve a sort of metallic shine.
For the skin I star with a dark green mixed with a little purple to darken it a bit more, and I try to leave the deep recesses in purple and the parts underneath which would be in complete shadow also in purple, to avoid using black as shadows. Then I start to build up lighter layers trying to hit the most upper parts with the maximum highlights.
I still have a little work to do, as I still want to get the skin a little more on the olive green side than this pure green, and maybe mix in a little basic skin tone for the most "fleshy" parts. Then it's just getting a little variety of colours around the model, a bit of red for the gas tank on the side, red with white for the radio, and a few cables, and a variety of browns for the leather/cloth parts.
Now... this is FAR to clean for an ork. So now we've (almost) finished painting (as I say I still want to work the skin a little more, and have things to touch up and clean) comes my favourite part... WEATHERING! Yep, I got a hell lot of weathering to do here.
But that will be in the final reveal. And of course the base, I have not forgot the base xD.

Maybe my favourite part of the process. That moment when you give a nice black primer and a white zenital and bring it all together. Don't know, it kind of makes it legit :P
I pinned the backwheel onto a pile of scrap cast in resin and scattered around a few bits and stuck down a few stones. I blended the bits and the scrap into the base with some AK interactive terrain paste and covered the rest with pva glue and sprinkled on some fine gravel, really more a sort of coarse sand.
Primed in black and zenithal with white ink.
Next step... painting!! Hope we make it in time!
Espero acabar a tiempo!

The kitbashing has ended, now the bike is... well... nearly finished. The main work is done, all I need to do now is finish some details like some rivets, maybe a few cables and stuff like a sort of pommel on the end of the handlebar. And I'm also thinking of making some kind of banner/flag for the empty pole and sticking more stuff on the other one. Apart from those litte details, I think I'm ready to start with the painting!

Finally, all main parts glued together, and biker also complete, now it looks like a bike. Still a lot of work to do to get it where I want, lots of orky stuff to be done, but I'm quite happy where it's going. Would I have done some things differently should I start again? For sure, but in this sort of chaotic way or working we just deal and work around problems as they come up. Just as Mork would have it. Or was it Gork?

I wasn't completely sold on the idea of the back of the bike, and as I couldn't find a bit that I liked or would fit I decided to take out the repurposed plasticard (from an old ice cream sign) and make one my self. I made a sort of box shape so it would mostly hide the back wheel (and hopefully save making chains or rods xD) and giving me plenty of space and flat surface to load it up with plenty of orky stuff. All the front part and rider is glued together and now the back part of the bike is also glued in place with plenty of super glue and baking soda to make a solid union.
And now the main frame is done, as I said before, now comes the fun part... Gluing on loads of orky stuff!!

So, after looking again through all the bits and shapes and fitting things together with blue-tac I finall came up with a basic design or shape where I can start building from.
The biker will be sitting on top of half an old Darth Maul toy saber (from a McDonalds promotion if memory serves me right). A plastic thingymebob (no clue what it is) but it fits the saber perfectly and has a rounded shape on which that ork bomber bit rests quite well, and will bulk up that part so the rods for the wheel to the handlebars will sort of make sense and an angle (doesn't have to be perfect scientifically, I don't even know what those rods I'm on about are called... anyway we're talking about orks here!)
I needed something to nest the back wheel, and have a sort of nice shape for a bike rear end, and give me enough space to build more stuff and make it orky enough, and this old piece of an... ancient dreadnaught? Is perfect. I can even put a couple of machinegun dakka con those flat arm things on the side... kinda like the first ork bikes (which I really like by the way).
Looks like we got a plan! What do you think?

Ok, so all bits and pieces have been narrowed down. Now I have to make a decision on which will be the pilot of the bike and figure out how I'll make the main body of this bike. I did want to use the Mozrog model as biker, but the legs were part of the seat/saddle on the squig, so I had to cut the saddle out and glue the legs on it.
This means that somehow this will have to be the bike seat.
As for the main body of the bike my first intention was to use a Votann bike, but they are too small, so I will have to make my own. I have a few options, none fit quite well as they are... so I suppose next update will be "chop shop" time!

So, the first thing I have to do is narrow down the bits I might use to build my "Boss Biker"
I usually approach these kind of builds with no preconceived idea, I just go with the flow, in the most orky way possible xD.
In a few days lets see what we've selected and see where we go from there!
