Summary of Painting Process
English
As posts of painting were lost, I have grouped them up in this post.
In the first pics I am spraying a pink base coat for the upcoming yellows. (My army colors are yellow and purple). I don't mind the over spray as the base for the skin is going to be a purple and mostly metallics around it. Using the brush I place where I want the highlights and the first yellow layer is a yellow from the AK Quick Gen range. Over that I start building lighter layers of yellow where I had placed the highlights trying to achieve a sort of metallic shine.
For the skin I star with a dark green mixed with a little purple to darken it a bit more, and I try to leave the deep recesses in purple and the parts underneath which would be in complete shadow also in purple, to avoid using black as shadows. Then I start to build up lighter layers trying to hit the most upper parts with the maximum highlights.
I still have a little work to do, as I still want to get the skin a little more on the olive green side than this pure green, and maybe mix in a little basic skin tone for the most "fleshy" parts. Then it's just getting a little variety of colours around the model, a bit of red for the gas tank on the side, red with white for the radio, and a few cables, and a variety of browns for the leather/cloth parts.
Now... this is FAR to clean for an ork. So now we've (almost) finished painting (as I say I still want to work the skin a little more, and have things to touch up and clean) comes my favourite part... WEATHERING! Yep, I got a hell lot of weathering to do here.
But that will be in the final reveal. And of course the base, I have not forgot the base xD.
