Here it is!
The final look of the Iraqi T-55. I gave my best with this model, and I'm actually quite satisfied with the final result. I hope you like it too!
The photos were taken with my phone (Poco X3), so they might not be super sharp, but we make do with what we have.
It's intended to represent an Iraqi T-55 recently abandoned by its crew for whatever reason as is often seen in photos from the Gulf War in Kuwait (1990-1991). I would have liked to make a small scenic base to help with the storytelling, but unfortunately I'm running out of time, and I think the tank looks pretty good on it's own anyway.
It's also the model on which I have done the most scratch building so far.
The only aftermarket parts I bought are the metal barrel, the extra machine-gun
ammo boxes, and the little PE plastic crate (which I broke and glued back at least 5 times...)
All the other added details were hand made from plastic or copper (as you can see in previous posts).
I'm sorry if I haven't posted a lot of updates, especially on the weathering, I was in a bit of a rush.
If you have any question about anything, don't hesitate to ask, I will try to answer them as best I can.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who followed, liked, and commented throughout the build, and good luck to all the contestants!

Here is a glimpse of the painted tarps on the barrel.
I hope you like what you see so far.

I'm sorry I haven't posted a lot of updates, but I was really in a hurry to finish the tank on time.
Anyway, here is a little preview of the finished model before the final submission. 😉

A rust wash, some AK's dry ground textured paste covered with dirt-tonned oil paints, et voilà! A pair of dirty, greasy tracks.

I just finished painting the accessories. The deadline is getting closer and closer and I still have a lot to do...
But at least I have some boxes.

The weathering continues with some chipping and a bit of rust.

A little bit of oil to add a little bit of color, followed by a pin wash, also done with oil paint, and some highlights of small details with acrylic.
The next step is now chipping.

With all the markings, the paintjob is basically done. I tried my best with the eastern arabic numerals, and yes, they are hand-painted.
Now I can move on to the oils and weathering.

The camouflage is finished! Now it's time to paint the markings.
