Project Summary

This project documents the transformation of the CA3D Cyclops from a raw resin print into a finished collectible statue. The main focus of the project is recreating the cinematic atmosphere of the original concept through subtle color work, controlled lighting, and realistic material textures.

What makes this piece especially interesting to me is the heavily desaturated palette combined with the intense glow of the visor, which acts as the central light source of the entire composition. Achieving that balance while preserving the dark and moody “library” atmosphere is one of the core artistic challenges of the project.

Throughout this process, I will focus on preparation, assembly, painting, lighting effects, texture separation, and final presentation in order to bring the concept to life as a believable high-end collectible statue.

Thank you so much! I really love the classic X-outfit as well — it fits the atmosphere of the piece perfectly. And the X-Men chess pieces are such a brilliant storytelling detail, that was one of the things that instantly sold me on this concept!
