Hi everyone!

(Note: I’m posting once again just to be on safe side! I noticed that for some reason I have an option to mark this post as final however I was sure that I checked final tickbox on previous one..Well, on the bright side I can add one more thing here, so it’s not 100% the same! ^^)

This will be my final post for this challenge. Firefly is finished, and I can finally get some rest :D

As expected, it was quite a challenge — this is the most detail-heavy kit I’ve worked on so far. As for the kit itself, the most challenging part was all the masking, compounded by the sheer number of tiny details. It wasn’t so much difficult as incredibly time-consuming and tiring — although, when has masking ever been easy? :D

Cute detail I would like to highlight is that like a real firefly she’s glowing in the dark! All thanks to Gaianotes fluorescent blue green clear paint, it really did all the magic!

It was also my first time using the Mobius airbrush, but I got used to it very quickly. I did have some overspray issues that were frustrating, but as you can see, I managed to overcome them ^^

The airbrush is smooth and easy to use, and it has become a great addition to my setup alongside my Iwata Custom Micron and HP-C Plus.

I’m really happy that I took part in this project. It gave me the opportunity and motivation not only to start and finish such a difficult kit, but also to try a new airbrush that turned out to be really good!

I’d also like to thank everyone who supported me with their kind words! It meant a lot to me and helped me believe in myself a little more. Thank you so much!

As title says! There was such a beautiful light on my roof veranda yesterday so I took couple of pictures and wanted to share^^

Now she’s waiting for her final camera photo session! I’ll share some good pics of her and my thoughts about this challenge next post^^

Hi there!

This week I worked on remaining small things - specifically present box she‘s holding (added my nickname there because it’s cute :D) and small imperfections on her head, for some reason when I put all hair parts together, there was a tiny gap on the left side I cannot leave so I puttied it and painted over.

Aaaand she’s done! Here is a video of her back side before I put her head on - some small details became hidden under her hair so theres a chance to see everything ^^

I can’t upload more than one video per update so I do one or two more posts today^^

This week I did her face and hair (also small head decorations, but that need to be corrected a bit to be complete, so next time ^^’)

For the eyes I used decals as a base because of its very good quality - usually I paint eyes by hand, but in case of this kit it would be absolute waste not to use it! But I said as base - so I slightly upgraded it, adjusted colours and added some more reflects ^^ Now it’s good!

And her hair - it has blue green gradients at the ends and I used two paints to achieve reference color - gaianotes blue green and mr color clear deep blue. Clear paints magic! For the hair parts that are closer to face I also added skintone colour to make ’clear’ effect. Everything covered with smooth pearl coat for soft glowing effect^^

Hi everyone!

This week I finished remaining details like bell and that long parts on the back of her costume (don’t know how to name it) and started to put everything I have finished together!

Nothing special, just a lot of work with masking..but that moment when you remove the masking and see how it turned out- absolutely the best. Totally worth it.

So now I‘m heading to final boss - the head! Stay tuned, I’m going to finish soon ;)

This week I did all mahoganies this kit has yay! Also finished a bunch of details, only few things with golds left (will do it next week) and I’ll try to assemble what I have at the moment

All according to keikaku this time…

And! Small but important thing - I fixed broken bell connection, now it’s perfectly firm and won’t broke from touches haha

So next week I’m gonna finish her costume and start to work on her head^^

50% done!

This week was week of greens! I think I painted all greens that Firefly has :D

Most difficult part - that pattern with yellow “eyes” - need some more work as I failed to mask it properly, liquid mask was not a good idea T__T Edges are not sharp and clean..let’s see what I can do here.

But! I did her hands! All because of that small green inserts on her sleeves :D happiii! Also painted skin tone on her face, together with hands.

Slowly approaching 50% completion mark…

Next week will be the week of mahogany and gold! Stay tuned :3
