Thank you for following me along this journey. This is my best work yet I think, at the very least my vision in my head came out in real life so I am happy no matter the judgement. Since I can only upload 10 things I will ask the judges to please view this Google drive link for my full final entry for the GWCC https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1n32bU5fVMYH-LnT4eoFDLnUFzb9aZMho
While that is a public link that anyone can go look at I would prefer the rest of you go over to my Instagram and leave some love on my posts https://www.instagram.com/jgear3d
If you would like to buy this model you can reach out to Tengu's Instagram as well at https://www.instagram.com/tengustudio3d
I would like to shout out my beautiful wife, whom I just spent our first year anniversary with. She has been supportive of me during this competition even while pregnant! I love her, and she pushed me to be an artist and not just a 3D printing nerd.

Everything is basically done at this point and just needs to be put together, some parts with glue. Thankfully I did not have to rush to submit the final pictures this week because boy was I busy with other unrelated things.
Before the big finale I'd like to thank my wife (shout out wives), my Tengu community for whom helped make this figure a reality, you guys in the comments on my post ( which I never set up notifications for and missed all of until just now, woops), and the team at gaahleri for coming out swinging with these new paint sets.
Without gaahleri's new paints I could not have made such a vibrant paint job, they were kind enough to send me the transparent set to test out while I was already using the primary color set B and shipping in the metallic set.
I originally wanted to only use the transparent black and white for the fish but once gaahleri said to test them out I took it to a whole nother level. The brown, the blue, the green, all of the transparent colors acted differently but they all shared the same saturation like inks while also somehow being see through like a wash. The only issue I was was transparent white, which is unfortunate but they can't all be winners.
See you in the final post!

This week I worked hard on the main characters. The base it not fully done yet but it is a good state for me to move on and put some paint on things and boy did I.
I went into some shadows and highlights on the school uniform with all gaahleri transparent paints. They work like inks in pigmentation but are see through. I've been loving them so far. I will go in with some hand brush work later but for now let's call this a base coat.
I paint the skin layers, on something as small as 1/6 I find it hard personal to air bush skin or hand paint it in the smoothness I want. But I always end up going to the air brush. I didn't feel like taking pictures in between each skin layer, but if you want to know I started with the pinkel method (IYKYK) but I put too much regular skin tone over and they looked dead, so I did the rby ink method with the gaahleri transparent paints. A more thinned down skin tone paint in like 6 layers not included the 3 more layers of highlights 😮💨.
I also painted the book bags and detailing that more. Painted the shoes, but might repaint them.

This week I worked on theory crafting and implementing how to create the base(s) of my project. I wanted a more realistic concrete Japanese step, not that Japanese concrete looks different than any other concrete but JJK is set in Japan so that's just where my minds at. I originally started with a dark blue gray as a base and was going to dry brush from there. Then I realized that there would be way to much blue in my piece and my main characters would not stand out like I wanted. So I incorporated some dark greens and browns into the bases then finished off with a dark dark slightly blueish gray wash.
The wash was to set the scene, since it is technically raining the concrete should look wet and dark since concrete absorbs water in that way.
I left one side lighter than the other to differentiate the 2 bases just a bit. This way the light side matches the light fish and the darker side the darker fish, hopefully adding more visual candy when it's all put together.
Clear resin water effects coated in gaahleri transparent teal. And the black fish is dry brushed in metallic to make it feel more ethereal.

Sorry to the gaahleri team for the late update 🙏.
This week I've been doing multiple thin coats of paint to the main parts. Many hours for seemingly little results but the build up is worth it. I've been especially enjoying the Kaleido transparent paints, they were my main inspiration for the clear resin tinting.

Last week it was to hot this week I had a cold, it sucks but it is what it is. Due to me being sick all I was able to get done was spray down the bases a little. Some dark blue gray to start with and some translucent brown in some more detailed spots I will build on later. Both gaahleri paints! I plan on further developing the grays to eventually look like a good stone under coat with plenty of paint detailing before going over it with a final dry brush. No real paint scheme for this, I'm just going to trust where the brush takes me.
I also put together all my gaahleri paints together. I have the color set B, metallic set, and I've been testing out the translucent paints in the background. I found that the translucent paints are great for these light shading sessions without having to thin them down.

It's basically been 100 degrees in my painting space, with not airflow, fan, or AC. So here's a WIP of my zenithaled pieces.

This week I have primed a few parts and sanded the umbrella to this see through finish.

over the weeks I've test printed the this model and after finalising all the fits I ended up reprinting a majority of the parts. Notably I used clear resin for the water effects and the fish. I spent a lot of time this week and last week sanding geto and gojo directly, primarily I reprinted the umbrella in full clear resin and made sure the entire thing was sanded smooth and clear.
Next I will start the first layer of priming to look for more imperfections. I also have to continue sanding, this time the fish need to be cleaned up some more.
I got some new paint from prime day and wanted to show it off here as well. looking forward to the metalics and clear paints. I especially want to use the clear paints on the fish, and maybe the water effects to get a better blue.
