Good morning, everyone.
I had to skip last week's update due to family reasons; I’ve managed to make progress now and have started painting, beginning with a highly varied preshading base. This time I used a white base for canvas ailerons to make a visible difference between then and wing surface, we will see how it works with the main underside color.
Regards!

Hello everyone,
in this update I want to show you the work necessary to represent flaps in closed position, there are two little holes that must be plugged, so I cut out some ovals from plasticard and I did it.
Then I used Eduard photo-etched parts to detail the landing gear bay, that's the situation before primer.
Another interesting detail that elevates the overall quality is the photo-etched parts enhancing the exhaust tips; they are quite fragile, so I prefer to prepare them before installing the component at the final stage.
That's all guys, next step is paint job, finally! :D

Hello everyone,
this week I was always busy (with my family LOL) but I've completed work on the little engine as you can see. Then I tried drilling holes in the exhaust pipes with a micro-drill to give them more threedimensionality.
I like the result till now :D

Hello everyone,
this was a busy week in my family, for this reason, I was able to do little. I cleaned some parts before painting, especially the landing gear bay doors from which I removed the ejector marks.
Then I worked on the flaps; I thinned them down and tried to fit them to the wing so I could glue them in the retracted position as can be seen in most photos showing Hayates parked.
That's all folks.

Hello everyone,
in this week I focused myself on engine cowling which needs to be cleaned because some panel lines are missing or in positive, so I send off and re-engraved panel lines and missing rivets.
The engine has been detailed with Eduard photo-etched parts and it's ready for paint.

Hello everyone,
I procede slowly bute everything is in progress, I finished the gunsight using Eduard photoetched parts and I glue togheter fusolage and wings. Then using a mini-drill, I opened up cartridge ejection ports near the engine cowling.
Now they look better ;)

Good evening everyone,
the Hayate cockpit is complete, after some researches I decide to paint it with a medium green darker than Nakajima cockpit green similar to ANA611 interior green. Eduard photoetched parts are usefull including pilot seat, unfortunately it will barely visible once the fuselage is closed.

Hello everyone,
this will be the only aftermarket set that I'll use on this project to be more rapid, Eduard set cod. 49297, photoetched parts for interiors and exteriors.

Hello guys,
I have decided to halt the project dedicated to the F3H Demon because it's a really long project (for a modeler with a family, summer vacations and two small children as I am) and I have no intention of doing a poor job of constructing the model and the interventions it requires.
For this reason, I decided to dedicate myself to a smaller but extremely interesting project: building a Ki-84 Hayate using the 1/48 scale Hasegawa kit, on this project use of aftermarket parts will be minimal but effective.
Hope you like it and understand my decision.
