More details on wings
I already posted my weekly update but I have so many things to do in the last few days. So I need to post another update, this time again about the wings. Not that you'd think the wings were finished.
The Camel had small windows in its wings through which mechanics could inspect the pulleys on the aileron control cables. By opening the windows, they also had quick access to fix any problems.
Pic 1 Eduard provided very little details here, which I painted wood, linen and aluminum, steel and black.
Pic 2 The inspection windows itself are clear parts in the kit. But I do not like the simulated frame.
Pic 3 So I removed the "frames" and polished the parts back to clear glass with sanding pads up to 12000.
Pic 4 The new frames comes from the PART set as PE.
Pic 5 I glued the clear parts with Microscale Kristal Klear, followed by the frames secured with CA.
Pic 6 The top wing also had a bigger window in the middle, but here I had to modify the metal frame to fit.
Pic 7 The new look of the wings: no more of the small strips of tape that were there before, but now with filled-in windows.
If you want to see this detail on an original Camel here is a link to a photo:

@dougmulle The trick was to left them on the sprue 😉 I used the pieces of sprue as a handle.

A very well-executed implementation of the inspection windows, which make the model look even more realistic.
