Before the first brushstroke, the stage must be ready.

This week has been dedicated to assembling the miniature, removing supports, cleaning the printed parts, and refining imperfections with putty.

Each small adjustment brings Baba Yaga closer to the character I envisioned.

There is still a long way to go—from priming and establishing the light, to painting the fabrics, materials, and finally creating the world beneath her feet.

The stage is taking shape. The performance is still to come.

Antes de la primera pincelada, el escenario debe estar listo.

Esta semana la he dedicado a ensamblar la miniatura, retirar los soportes, limpiar las piezas impresas y corregir imperfecciones con masilla.

Cada pequeño ajuste acerca a Baba Yaga al personaje que imaginé.

Aún queda mucho por hacer: desde la imprimación y la iluminación, hasta pintar las telas y los materiales, y finalmente crear el mundo bajo sus pies.

El escenario está tomando forma. La función aún está por llegar.

This week was dedicated to exploring Slavic textiles, weathered fabrics, ancient ornaments, and a color language that reflects Baba Yaga's world. Esta semana la dediqué a explorar textiles eslavos, telas envejecidas, ornamentos ancestrales y un lenguaje cromático que refleje el mundo de Baba Yaga. Tonos fríos, materiales desgastados y una única luz mágica guiarán cada pincelada.

This week has been dedicated to visual research-exploring Slavic folklore, traditional clothing, weathered textiles, forest textures, and historical references that define Baba Yaga's world.

Rather than simply painting a miniature, I'm building a character whose presence feels ancient, mysterious, and deeply rooted in legend. Every reference brings me one step closer to the atmosphere I want this piece to evoke.

Esta semana ha estado dedicada a la investigación visual: explorando el folclore eslavo, la vestimenta tradicional, los textiles envejecidos, las texturas del bosque y las referencias históricas que dan forma al mundo de Baba Yaga. Más que simplemente pintar una miniatura, estoy construyendo un personaje cuya presencia se sienta antigua, misteriosa y profundamente arraigada en la leyenda. Cada referencia me acerca un paso más a la atmósfera que quiero que esta pieza transmita.

Every story begins with the right character.

After exploring several concepts, I chose Baba Yaga as the protagonist of this project. Sergio Khazov's beautiful sculpt has long been one of my favorite pieces, making it the perfect choice to bring this vision to life.

Her dynamic composition, theatrical presence, and rich storytelling potential perfectly align with my artistic vision for The Velvet Proscenium.

The curtain is about to rise.

Tras explorar varios conceptos, elegí a Baba Yaga como protagonista de este proyecto. Esta hermosa escultura de Sergio Khazov ha sido durante mucho tiempo una de mis piezas favoritas, lo que la convierte en la elección perfecta para dar vida a esta visión.

Su composición dinámica, su presencia teatral y su rico potencial narrativo se alinean perfectamente con mi visión artística para The Velvet Proscenium.
