Surface modelling, trying to model around the laid down components, a lot of back and forth.
30 days left and I have not even started the print yet.
Well, if I don't make it for the deadline, you know where to find me to see this project finished later after this contest.

Laying down the rest of the key components, spacing them where they could be before working on the outer shell.
Seeing the deadline is closing in, I will have to give up on the front and rear wing deployment and make them static for now. Just so that I have time for printing and painting.

The front suspension is finally done.
All that's left is designing the chassis to suit all the mounting locations.
Still behind schedule with only 44 days left, but at least that's most of the heavy lifting done.
Major things left to design:
1) Chassis
2) Front wing
3) Rear wing
4) LED system

Steering servo and bell crank location almost finalised. Has to be tested to know if the steering angle will work for sure. Still need to work on the shocks and rockers on the front suspension.
If only I have more time to spend on this...

Front suspension linkages almost finalised, still need a little more work on the push rod rocker and steering bell crank.
It is now more than halfway through the contest, feels like I am way behind schedule...

The placement of the rear suspension linkages are finalised, moving on to the front.
The front is a little trickier as it involves in steering as well. The challenge is to reduce the amount of ball joints, used in this assembly as they tend to have a lot of play.
I hope I am still on track, although a lot of these mechanical challenges might be irrelevant to GWCC, I still like to make this a functional product.

All I could do this week was finalising the wheel hubs, relocating the mounting points of the wishbones and push rod linkages. Still have to re-design the drive-train housing for all these new points.
Issue: found out the belts were getting hot after a short burst of throttle. If it does get too hot, the PLA idler pulley will not last. Ordered aluminium idler pulley, should be here in 2-3 weeks time, then I have to get that belt tensioner re-designed when it arrives. I hope this does not cause too much delay on the project.
PS: This project has been so much fun but unfortunately it is not my full-time job. Have to squeeze out as much time as I can get to make sure I meet the submission deadline.

Another busy week went by just like that, designing the double wishbone system and the wheel hubs were all I can manage this week. The placement of all the pivots points are now finalised relative to the differences in lengths and angles of the wishbones. Making sure the shock link is not clashing into the upper wishbone in the meantime.
All I need to do now for this week is update the drivetrain housing to accommodate those new mounting points and get it printed!

Could not do too much in the past week, only managed to do mockup on where the shock absorbers should be relevant to the dogbone, tyres and wheel hub. Next update should be on the design development of the full double wishbone setup.

The concept of the 2-stage belt drive powertrain with belt tensioner is a success! It has been a slow start, and the nature of this project might even prompt the question of "why is this even in GWCC?" The goal of this project is not a car statue, but something that's actually functional and looks good! Onto the next step!
