Aztec Six

Calling this one done. I added the small craft to the deck. Did a final matte coat, and placed the final components in place. I took a couple of images and ran them trhough AI to make them space appropriate. An enjoyable build.

I would recommend it to anyone.

I used UV activated putty to mount a nut into the kits standard mounting cover plate. Its the first time that I've used it, and I have to say its pretty awesome. The speed of CA with the mass of putty. I will definately be making this part of my build process in the future. I also matte coated the model. (no pics) and plan to tackle a plasmo glow for the engine similiar to what I've seen warhammer painters do with plasma rifles.

Finished a three day session of Manuel linin the Asuka. It’s looking a bit more like a scale model now instead of a toy.

Need to complete the hull decals.

Decaling

The ship is basically together at this point. I didn't have a great match in my acrylic paint markers for the gray-blue hull color on the center section of the flight deck, so that area ended up a little different from what the kit instructions call for.

That said, my goal with this build was to apply some Gunpla techniques to a traditional ship kit, which meant avoiding a full repaint whenever possible and working with the kit's molded colors.

Next up is a gloss coat on the flight deck to prepare for decals, followed by the final top coat.
