Sometimes you move forward, but other times you go backward... to gain momentum.
Hello friends. There aren't always advances, sometimes setbacks. But that's okay, it's a learning experience. At this point, I'm convinced I won't win anything in this competition because of the number of experts submitting magnificent work. I'm just a novice with cars, enjoying the building process and trying my best while learning from my mistakes. So, the first thing I noticed was that the carbon fiber decals for the back of the seats that came with the kit don't fit at all. I'm not sure, but they just don't match. I have additional carbon fiber decals, but they're not the same style as the kit should have. So, I'll have to try painting them. The other setback was that I already had the entire body painted. The white color was excellent. I really loved it, so I decided to apply a gloss varnish before putting the decals on top. I used Atom's Hard Rock varnish, applying it in thin, spaced-out coats, but the result was awful—very grainy and brittle. I don't know what happened or what I did wrong, but it ended up like you see in the photos. So, I'll have to repaint everything since I tried sanding it, but the paint just peeled off. So, I'll have to strip it all down and repaint. No time to dwell on it. I'll just have to try everything again.
