Final assembly

This is the last build update and shows the final assembly with late details.

The teaser pic 1 The finished Camel, showing my self made bearing is working - the engine rotates together with the airscrew - driven by airflow.

Pic 2 The rotary engine Clerget is now equipped with 18 ignition copper wires, because it can't run without. The ultra thin wires are taken from high flexible silicone cables.

Pic 3 The engine was glued to the bearing with CA.

Pic 4 The cowling is glued on too. The original one was held in place by a steel rope - you can see it here at the end of the cowling. Here it is a 0.15mm wire, held by 4 little PE parts and 4 tiny wing nuts, all from the PART PE set. The set provides also 4 additional one labeled with "spares" 😃.

Pic 5 Because it is so nice from another perspective - please note the brass wing nut!

Pic 6 The rope was fixed on the lower side.

Pic 7 Now the Vickers MGs and the airscrew are finally in place too.

Pic 8 The gap between cowling and airscrew is very small.

Pic 9 All four ailerons are now equipped with control horns and the wires are connected.

Pic 10 After the final photo shots that will be the final place in my glass cabinet, beside the beautiful Ship's Camel. That’s why I don’t make base plates – the aeroplanes are lit from the front bottom and front top (LEDs mounted on the visible aluminium profile).

By the way, the last photo shows the more real appearance of the Cadmium Yellow paint.

What a wild ride that was! I’m really glad it’s been completed and finished on time.

@markgould Thank you! Sometimes the PE sets from PART has really nice parts, unfortunately not cheap. Luckily I have not used the spare wingnuts so those can be stored for a future project.
