Some outdoor impressions of the Camel
At first an important statement: here is no AI involved!
As I love to do outdoor shots with my models and two tripods here some impressions of the finished colorful famous "Wing of Horus" Camel which was painted to celebrate the build of 1000 airplanes by Ruston & Proctor in Lincoln.
Fun fact:
On 6th March 1918 Ruston Proctor ‘Camel’ B7380 is sent back from France by the RFC as “not suitable for fighting purposes”.
Luckily, they sent it back and didn’t paint over it in dark green. 😃
If you think these might be photos of a real flying Camel, then my mission is accomplished.

@dougmulle Thanksyour for such kind words! At first, the sky was almost entirely blue, and I’d finished my series of photos. Then I noticed some clouds approaching, so I waited a while and took some more photos. It looks much nicer now with the clouds.

Bughunter42 days ago@runway07r25l Thank you very much! Do we know each other? Your account sounds like München Riem, but I have no idea. It was not possible to create a chat.

@bughunter Yes, we know each other. This runway designation wasn't just used in Riem; it is currently being used in Manching as well. Does that ring a bell?

Bughunter42 days ago@manu2 Of course you’re invited – after all the fantastic support you’ve given me on this journey and in the time beforehand …

Bughunter42 days ago@bogdanbolda Yeah, it’s not a fighter plane, but an celebration plane. It was used later to drop War Bond leaflets.

Bughunter42 days ago@tougescaleworks Thanks! I shot the photos with two tripods and a base plate but I have to take care to avoid modern structures in the background of the photos 😊

@bughunter Very well executed :) If I took pictures outside you'd see in the background of the plane either a building or a petrol station 🤣
