Really enjoyed this build a lot. Not overly complicated and was built completely box stock except for the license plate which was from ZoomOn out of Hong Kong. what a journey and glad I was able to participate in this event.

Just a quick clip of the finished build.

Got this one assembled and ready for some final shots. It is rare to see a good sunny day here so I got lucky with this one and took some photos outside. You can really see that Kaleido K302 Cosmic Black Pearl shine in the sun. I am super happy with this paint and how it turned out. The kit is not anything extravagent but this was a great build and I really like the adjustable suspension that Aoshima has developed. I'm sure we will begin seeing it more with their kits.

If you’ve ever wondered what Kaleido paints look like under scrutiny, here is your chance. This is K302 Cosmic Black Pearl after clear, in the sun. It is spectacular and just what I was looking for with the black. Super impressed with this colour and these results. Soon to come, some additional final photos.

Not quite finished the polishing but thought I would just throw it together for a look see. The pearl is super subtle which I am very pleased about and the stance is super aggressive.
Getting back to a little more polishing and then on to the final stretch.

So we have been able to get rid of most scratches and the sanding to 10k is done. Many hours later, it’s kinda hard to tell if it’s paint or plastic other than knowing all the previous body work done.
I am hoping polish will remove any slightly visible scratches left in the hood and even out all the paint. Final polish should make this look stellar.
Cross your fingers guys that I don’t ruin something here.

After some decent dry time, the need for some sandpaper has arrived. This is after a full sanding using 3000 grit wet sponge. I love the Tamiya sponge and use it extensively.
Still, going to go even further so it’s time to break out the god hand sponges. 6000, 8000 and then 10000 coming up before polish. Like anything, the more you put into prep, the better the results. Using sanding sponges to that grit means the polishing should be a breeze.
Not at the finish line yet but getting there!

I like that I feel non-rushed with this project and I think that is showing up in the results. Was able to get some clear onto the R32 and I am super happy with it so far a little orange peal but that will be taken care of after a few days of dry time.
Usually when I am at this part I will look at it and think, one more coat of clear, and then that coat is the one that ends up making the mess but I resisted this time and yeah, it was the right call.
The pearl is super subtle and I am glad I went with a regular clear and not the pearl as that would have been too much. I can’t wait to see this one polished up!

Second layer of primer went on exceptionally.
Ready to begin with paint.

Just finishing some of the final body work and sanding of the primer before first layers of paint. I thought it would be interesting to see just how that suspension worked with the body So quick assembly later and voila. The range of travel for the wheels is super impressive and actually will go so low that you can have the chassis sitting right on the ground. Camber also has a great range to it, a little or a whole lot! It will be interesting to see what Aoshima applies this to for future releases.
