Well here it is, the final upload!

It has been a long road but here we are, finished, photographed & uploaded!

This is by far the fastest Diorama I have ever built, from foam & plastic to a finished piece in 3 months! Yes, granted, its not my finest work, but, certainly one I am proud of given the timeline.

A good chunk learnt along the way too, thatching using hemp takes an age, finding the right length static grass certainly helps and ALWAYS clean your airbrush.

Now a small summery of the Diorama :
The tank itself is the Tamiya 1:35 scale Tiger 1, early addition. There is a few upgrades on the kit including an eduard photo-etch kit, resin barrel, resin brackets & resin workable tracks all drawn and printed by myself.
A set of figures & ammo boxes were also added, these files were bought from cults 3D and resin printed again by myself.
Main paintwork on the tank was painted using Tamiya acrylics through the Gaahleri Mobius 3.0. All details were done using vallejo and brush painted.

The base is foam coated in all purpose filler, a layer of AK dark earth on top and static grass to finish it off. All painted using Tamiya acrylics, again using the Gaahleri Mobius and a mega load of Mig pigments added to finish off the effect.

The building is again foam & filler coated, roof is constructed with balsa & hemp, windows & door brackets are 3D printed with acetate glass. The window shutters and doors are again balsa.

Finally the rubble, there are 3D printed chairs, a balsa wood table, balsa wood beams and stone/render is painted filler.
A stove and benches were also added, but once all shut in, not all that visible!

Its go go go on the Tiger now! Paint is laid, chipping is in progress and starting to take shape!

I am having to rush like hell to get it done, buuut, I am hoping some magic with oils, graphite & pigments will cover any inperfections 🤞

So, back from Boomtown and straight into it! FINALLY got the thatch done, bloomin ell that was quite the task! Still a lot of work to do on it, needs staining, walls need weathering, rubble and beams need scattering, grass needs painting and a world more!

But, for now, I have had enough of working on the building, so moving onto the Tiger!

With the busy summer I have had, I have resigned to the fact the whole thing isnt going to be to the standard I would have liked.

So, its going to be damage limitation from here on out, with the aim of getting something half acceptable to be submitted.

A small update on the kursk project :

- Groundwork has been laid and grass applied, needs some paint and weathering but that will come later.

- Paintwork on the building has been started, again a world of weathering and details need adding.

- The thatch roof is underway, combing hemp fibres and making small sections ready for fitting! First time doing this, so we shall see how it goes!

- Finally the oak base trim has been added and stained, will be masked off soon for the final paint stages!

Still a long way to go, just gotta keep cooking! But in the meantime, happy modelling everybody!

On a roll with the kursk project now, interior is near complete just needing some rubble and mess! The figures are printed, and the groundwork has begun! (More on that soon!)

After a small break from the bench to do summer life stuff, I am back and its pure chaos!

The deadline is really looming, with every weekend from now untill deadline day booked up with events, every second counts!

Hut interior is on the way, base is awaiting a layer of filler, 3D printed parts ready to be cleaned!

Better get cracking, some nicer pictures to come soon, but for now, happy modelling everybody!

Time certainly is ticking on this project, starting to think I bit off more than I can chew! 😂

Buuuut, been some progress on the hut both inside and out, Diorama compilation is there and its almost time to start putting this thing together and bringing it to life!
