Decals and Distressing done.

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to another weekly update. I'm very pleased to say that I'm in the home stretch now. I have completed the distressing/weathing of the primary paint scheme. This was done by hand using acrylic paints and a whole lot of patience. Small details also added to wheels and landing gear.

All decals have been applied, while testing my sanity.. :)

And finally a overall coat of gloss varnish applied to seal everything in for the next phase.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by. Good luck with your builds.. There is so much inspirational stuff out there..

Till next week.

Color at last

Hello again for another weeks update.

Primary scheme has been applied. Paint scheme was applied over a black base with white Tamiya acrylic marbling. Mr Color was used to paint the 3 tone camo scheme, and Tamiya acrylic White, Nato Black and Black used for the invasion stripes.

The next phase of work will be to destress the overall scheme.

Till next week. Keep modelling... keep well.

Main Construction Phase

Hi All.

With the Cockpit and Engine completed I am now moving onto the first phase of construction. I have sealed up the fuselage halves and glued the wings and tail bits into place. Now starts the messy steps of fill, sand and describe.

My next update should have the early stages of paint (with a bit of luck). Good luck to everyone out there... hope your projects are going well.

Rivets Done!

Progress does not seem very quick at this stage, but things are coming together. The Engine and Cockpit are finally ready for a wash. And the imposing task of adding rivet detail has been completed (at LAST!!). It's not my favourite part of construction, but this will add lots of texture when the paint is applied and weathering starts.

Thank you for following along with this build. I'm hoping the next pictures will have some interesting painted parts.

Good luck with your builds guys!!! Have funs. Catch you soon.

P-47D Engine detail update

Hello all..

Hope your projects are going well. I have finished the detailing on the Quickboost engine for my P-47 build. Wires done with lead wire and pushrods and other pipes done with 0.3mm brass wire.

Engine is primed and ready to receive paint. Will post updates as I go. I will complete the cockpit once the engine is completed.

Thanks for visiting.

First update - Basic construction

My first update. Not very exciting from a visual point of view. Here's what's been don so far.

1 - Major parts tested for fit.

2 - Qucikboost engine has been fitted to kit part so its ready for the next steps (wiring and painting).

3 - Rivetting has begun. Rivetting will enhance the final surface appearance and lend itself to better weathering and chipping than the plain out the box surface.

My objective is to create some extra detail and surface "texture" to add more visual interest to the final build.

Thanks for checking out my update...

Happy building....

Biography

I have been active in this hobby for a few decades now and this is by far the most enjoyable way wind away hours, getting lost in creativity. I entered the plastic modelling scene as a teen, inspired by stories of my father and grandfather building models. I wanted to see the images of the great planes and tanks come to life in front of me on my modelling desk. My first passion is for historic miniatures, where I still aspire to gain the skill of the great miniature painters... This quest will always be there for me.

I also enjoy the satisfaction of completing 1/72 scale aircraft. I enjoy bringing these tiny, yet highly detailed kits to life. I hope you will enjoy my work as I post here. Thank you for visiting.
