Scratchbuild Podracer Primer Stage & Cockpit Update
Over the past few days, the focus has been on two key areas of the project: the engines and the cockpit.
The engines have now received their first coat of primer. This stage allows many of the individually built details to come together as a cohesive whole for the first time. In a scratchbuild project, primer is particularly important, as it not only unifies the surfaces but also reveals which shapes and proportions work well and where further refinement may be needed.
At the same time, work continued on the cockpit. Following the initial structural elements, additional details such as pedals, control components, and a first seat with harnesses were added. Although the cockpit is still in an early stage of development, it is beginning to convey the confined and functional environment that the pilot will eventually operate from.
As with many scratchbuild projects, there have been moments when certain assemblies did not initially feel quite right. More often than not, however, it is the small adjustments to shape and proportion that make the biggest difference. Some of these changes have already been implemented, gradually giving the model more character.
For now, the focus remains on further developing the cockpit and refining the existing structures. There is still a long way to go before paint is applied, but the direction of the project is becoming increasingly clear.
The Podracer is slowly developing its own identity.

@bogdanbolda Thanks, though – things have changed a bit since the update. 😅 The Revell Aqua Colour paints have all been sold, and the mounts will be sold off soon too.
