Sharing the first update of my progress for the Gallery contest. In these photos, I’m showing the complete set of recently printed He-Man and Battle Cat parts—a spectacular design modeled by @cgomez_3d from ZEZ studios, who made this incredible piece possible.

The current state is purely the raw result of the print after basic washing; I haven't started the post-processing phase yet (no sanding, gap filling, or priming). The goal of this stage was to ensure the level of detail was spot on and to check the assembly before diving into the hard work of prepping the surface. Any feedback at this stage is more than welcome!

  @bughunter Without a doubt… just think about it: 3D printing technology is only getting started. Look at what we can do in just a few years… I started right at the beginning of 3D printing, and the difference between my first machine and my latest one is absolutely mind-blowing. 🤯🔥

  @javiercalvojccreaciones3d Lately I have seen the new colour printers, with a water washable support material. A colored knight came out of it. But this is not the way I want to go!

Biography

My name is Javier Calvo, and I am a Spanish 3D printing artist and collectible figure painter with more than 40 years of experience in scale modeling, miniatures and figure painting.

I personally carry out every stage of the creative process, from 3D printing and post-processing to assembly, painting and final finishing, focusing on high-end collectible pieces inspired by movies, comics, video games and popular culture.

In 2024, I received a national award in the 3D post-processing category for my artistic work. I have also participated as a guest artist and speaker at specialized events and exhibitions.

My goal is to combine technical precision with artistic storytelling, creating pieces that capture the essence and personality of iconic characters while achieving the highest collector standards.
