Week 11 based palette

This a breaking point where I would like share the acrylics used to get this platform and the head painted, the firs two colors i used for the platform were the Kaleido Matt Titanium slate for the top part and Armor carbon Iused my Gaahler GHAD-39.

35 needle with a 25 psi from my Cool Tooty compressor.

For the small panels and conduits I used 1/0 brush to paint on each section of the panel really slow and with steady hand nothing impressive just a repetitive for each section.it took about 20 minute to get it done,

The pillar with bolt joint I just bronze to give the platform a break from the carbon color in the platform. nothing special here just repetitive around the based hand brush some were complete cover in bronze and some were partial just to show the place has been decaying over time.

For the second pillar 1 did Vallejo heavy brown 72.153 and dead white 72.0011 mixed tis two colors to make tawny gold not bright that will compete with the the rest of the colors in the platform or galactus I mixed enough to cover all the pillars around the based nothing spacial just repetitive around the based.

To weather the based 1 use two three different colors two transparent and on wash the. The first color l used to weather was the createx sepia it gave the bronzed the brass and age weather colors accumulated in the corners in every other section I went heavy to create soot and age around the the based 1 did two passes to give the based abandoned based the second color l used was the transparent black it will give me a dark hue but the it will still show the colors on the based and a dark grey transparent to give me different layers each one took two passes with GHAD-39 with.5 needle with 40 psi from my compressor.

Now for the fun part 1 mixed brass with dead white to give an organic pink. I used this color to paint all the organic parts of the head in the based I used the my badger patriot 105.4 needle I did two passes to get the finish I want this color was a almost like a pink salmon.

I try to give the head of the centennial head some distress by airbrushing some veins using Vallejo night blue the back of the head I did big and thick branches or veins and some light veins in the forehead. For the veins I used my Gaahleri Möbius with 15 PSI from my compressor. Once the night blue was cure is used transparent pink to give the head a flesh color and not hide the veins make them look they are, under the skin.

If I would have any other pink color it would have hidden the veins throughout the head,

This process took me about me about three hours to do, it wasn't three hours straight once l accomplish the color I stop and gave the colors to cure for at lease 20 minutes to dry before continuing with the rest of the color. This what did to accomplish the weathering on the Galactus based, there are a lot step to follow but is worth the effort when you see the final results.
