Rust Weathering for Visual Impact
I'm not exactly sure what this part is for, but I decided to give it a rusty, weathered look.
In reality, it might be unlikely for this much rust to develop on this particular part, but I exaggerated the effect a little for visual impact on the model.
The rust may look quite heavy in these photos, but that's mainly because the part was photographed at very close range. When viewed on the actual model, the effect is much more subtle—you can just tell that the part has developed some rust over time.
