Timeline Shift Week 14 - Tuning the Glitches
Tuning into Channel 3... 📺⚡️
It’s Week 14 on the HG Schwarzette, and we’re dialing in the signal. After corroding the outer borders last week, it was time to give the interior glitch panels some serious TLC—capturing that late-night CRT television glow and blurring the line between physical armor and digital failure.
Here is the bench breakdown for this week’s distortion pass:
The Static Core: Filled each glitch to the brim with a custom neon wash designed to mimic a flickering TV screen under UV light.
Exposing the Static: Once dry, used a cotton swab dampened with Gunprimer Solven to gently erode the blue layer, pulling back the center to expose raw, corrupted noise underneath.
Chromatic Aberration: Applied an offset edge wash using Neon Purple and a custom Neon Cyan to trick the eye into seeing an out-of-focus RGB channel split.
Next week... we’re committing pure Gunpla heresy. No shortcuts—just breaking one of the biggest unwritten rules in custom builds. Stay tuned.

Cristian Carlone72 days agoIt’s amazing what you have been able to accomplish. It’s visually stunning! Have you experimented with this technique before? I would not have been able to come up with such approach in a hundred years!

@cristiancarlone Thank you! 🙏 Short answer: Complete first time! 😅 It’s 100% powered by S.W.A.G. (Scientific Wild A$$ Guessing). 😂 I've never weathered a kit before, so after keeping Phase 1 super precise, I wanted to throw out the rulebook and see what happened if I painted outside the lines. It’s been a rough learning curve, but if you can make wood and plastic mesh in a build, I had to try making neon static work! 😉 Appreciate the love! 🙏

@mechaassemblyexperience, I love the S.W.A.G. acronym! Too funny. Kudos for experimenting and being so successful on the first try! I have to admit I tried forvthe first time too to blend wood and plastic, so you made a fair point in comparing our efforts. Ciao!
