Last cockpit parts
I need to hurry up to close the fuselage!
Here are the last cockpit parts.
Sorry, the uploaded picture order was inverted on my mobile phone :(
Pic 1 For soldering it is important to hold parts in place, without movements. I use shafts of little HSS drills to hold pieces of brass pipes. The paper adjusts the different thickness.
Pic 2 Adding another piece on top. Tweezers cool the existing solder joints.
Pic 3 The soldered control stick, in comparison to the kit part. I hate to clean up those parts and here we have a heavy mould displacement so it is not possible to get round parts.
Pic 4 Socket from kit stick. Wrap-around stretched sprue on handle.
Pic 5 The main reason to spend this effort: When you look into the cockpit from above, you can see the open pipes, just like on the original.
Pic 6 The rudder pedal is a kit part. I only painted it.
Pic 7 The rudder and stick are mounted on the front part. The 0.17mm drill was used for openings for the control wires. Again 0.3mm brass turnbuckles.
Pic 8 With an oil wash the assembly is ready to be mounted.
Pic 9 The front was snapped between the fuselage halves and secured with glue. What a busy cockpit!
Pic 10 With adding the cockpit cover the fuselage is completely closed!

Fantastic work mate,I love the instrument panel, although I think your comments may be out of order with the photos. Hope you enjoy your holiday. :)

@markgould Thanks! Yes, after 3 failed tries to upload via the hotel WLAN I used mobil data and was happy about the update at all. As I wrote above the order of the pictures was inverted but I do not try to fix it (with this limited network).

Cristian Carlone69 days agoThe level of detail in such a small scale is fantastic! Thank you for using a 1 Euro cent coin to put things in perspective.

@cristiancarlone Thank you very much! I hope people in other parts of the world who are unfamiliar with this coin will forgive me.🤔

@johnnporter Thanks! Yes, that stick is not very big! At the end it is not a model but a downscaled original :)
