Project Summary

The kit looks very much like the Robot from the movie. They are only a few details that I see missing. The thing I find lacking is the base. It includes a lot, the chair and base for the figure. It contains the Metropolis logo and has clear parts and elevation. However, to me, the base could use some serious upgrading. Including lighting. So the plan is to add the few missing details to the figure and create a lighted base that includes a backdrop that will create an atmosphere for the figure. I am hoping to create a segment from the movie that will give life to the figure. I will be using Kaleido metallic paints for the robot. Using foam, plexiglass, wood and other materials to create a base that will finish the figure and create a scene from the movie. Techniques to be used will include painting, shading, oil blending, some STL file creation and 3D printing, scratch building, carpentry creativity and planning. Sounds like a fun project and hopefully it all comes together to create a piece showing my capabilities. Also I think this subject is of interest and deserves the attention to detail.

Final pictures part 1

I set up the back drop and lighting and began photography. It came out OK. The clear parts came out pretty clear considering gluing. Hopefully the overall presentation is balanced yet interesting.
