Living Quarters
Wow! So much done since the last update!
The first thing done was to print the window frames - as plasticcard cutting didn't work as well as planned - and then the plexiglass for the windows.
And here my ultrasonic knife was a real gamechanger!
If you frequently cut plexiglass, I recommend looking into these. Mince was 99.- Euros and very well worth it.
Once the windows were in I started an experiment: to build and light a Vivarium. I guess you can imagine my grin when I hooked up the wires and flipped the switch.
Next was the wooden floor.
For this I used 0.5mm plasticcard and scratched a (hopefully convincing) wood pattern. With several coats of paint and washes, I think it looks quite well.
So I quickly moved on to the furniture (mostly printed, but extra cushons and blanked sculpted from Greenstuff).
I know I'd suck as a fixer-upper interior designer, but for this model I think it works pretty well.
Next will be some additional lights, shading and then I'll move on to the observatory.
I hope you enjoyed this update :)
Cheers
