Project Summary

My project explores the impact of artificial intelligence on our lives, and more specifically on artists. It features a human placed inside a capsule, either depicted as being kept alive in a stasis-like state, or alternatively presented as an exhibit in a museum, with titles such as “Human at Work” or “Last Human Performing…”. This ambiguity between a living subject and an exhibited object is a central part of the concept. The human figure is fully coated in epoxy resin, creating a suspended, bubble-like effect and an impression of artificial preservation, enhanced by integrated lighting inside the capsule. This human is observed and studied by androids and robots with partially human-like appearances, although their mechanical nature remains clearly perceptible. The visual contrast is strong: the human figure is colorful, vibrant, and organic, while the AI environment is dull, cold, and desaturated. My inspirations come from universes such as NieR: Automata, Ghost in the Shell, and Final Fantasy VII, both for their aesthetics and for their reflections on humanity, memory, and technology.

WeeK 11: Supports

👋 Hi everyone!

This week, I continued preparing my model for 3D printing and also adjusted its scale because, in the end, it felt a little too small.

I tend to add more supports than necessary because I'm always worried that a print might fail and that the model will fall into the bottom of the printer's resin vat. 😅

I'm printing this project on three different resin printers: the Elegoo Saturn 3, the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra, and the Anycubic Photon M7 Pro. I do have a small issue with my M7 Pro at the moment, as its screen has been slightly damaged.

I'm slowly catching up on my schedule!

Why do you use so many printers? Do you print the same parts on all to see which are the best or do you use specific printer properties fro specific parts?
