Italeri Kits Are So Much Work!!
Italeri kits generally have rather soft, vague details and quite a lot of flash, so pretty much every part needs some cleanup. Unfortunately, the clear parts are no exception.
That’s why I even applied surfacer to the clear parts—something I normally wouldn’t do—so I could clearly see the imperfections and carefully clean them up.
The process is a lot of work, but seeing the parts come out clean and crisp in the end is incredibly satisfying!!

gekoch66 days agoThe flash is caused be too rapid a cycle rate in the molding system open and close , eventually the molds wear and then it is there consistently.

@gekoch That makes sense! 👍 There was quite a lot of flash on this kit, so almost every part needed some cleanup. 😅 Thanks for the interesting information!
