I’ve finally started painting the exterior of the IVECO dump truck!

Since the painted interior had already been glued to the outer body, there was absolutely no room for mistakes. If anything went seriously wrong, stripping the paint with thinner was no longer an option, so I had to work very, very carefully throughout the entire painting process!

Fortunately, everything went smoothly without any major mistakes. The base color, decals, and clear coat are now finished, and I also applied enough clear coats to completely level out the edges of the decals.

I haven’t even started polishing with compound yet, but the gloss is already looking really nice!

I’ll probably do some light polishing, but my goal isn’t to make this truck look like a brand-new vehicle. I want it to look like an older truck that has been very well maintained over the years.

Because of that, I think a slightly toned-down shine will look more realistic than a full high-gloss finish. For the final clear coat, I’m planning to aim for a finish somewhere between gloss and semi-gloss.

I’m really happy with how the body is turning out so far, and I’m relieved that I made it through this nerve-racking stage without any major mistakes!
