Failed Prints, Valuable Lessons
Getting the W16 engine ready for printing took much more time than I expected.
Before I finally achieved a successful print, there were plenty of failed versions along the way. Finding the correct scale, splitting the engine into separate printable parts, fixing the geometry, filling hidden internal cavities, preparing everything for resin printing… and that’s only part of the work.
A lot of mistakes were made, and some parts had to be redesigned and printed several times.
But honestly, that’s probably the most valuable part of this process. I learned a lot, improved my understanding of 3D modeling and resin printing, and gained experience that I simply didn’t have before starting this project.
And finally, after all those failed versions, the W16 is successfully printed.
Next step: painting and assembly.
