Who would have thought that testing 2 slightly different models would cause problems at the end? I was 95% done with the figure, and the base had been varnished and ready to go, when I decided to test the fit. That's when I realized she couldn't sit in the perfectly placed area designated for her.

Looking back, I realized I had tested the fit with a slightly different model, and while I tested the individual parts, I never tested the whole thing before gluing it together... I know, noob move.

After spending a good few hours sanding and making a hole to rearrange the model, I am now waiting for the filler to dry so I can repair the area. Guess I will be using the extra time to fix this unexpected obstacle.

I am still trying to be done by tomorrow with the figure (maybe not the presentation) Real Life is calling and I have to get back to all the things I put on hold to work on this.

This one is going to be great! I’m really looking forward to seeing the final submission. And honestly, one of the things that matters most is the time, energy, and effort you’ve put into this piece while balancing everything else in your life and with your family. That’s a big plus in my book. : ) I’ve really enjoyed seeing the process so far, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to look great in the end. And don’t worry too much about the small fixes here and there—we all know perfection doesn’t exist. Sometimes those little imperfections and mistakes give a piece more character and make it feel more alive and tell more of a story. You definitely have my vote for this one too!, so good luck with the final stretch/push! I’m really looking forward to seeing the final submission. : )

  @reza omg, this makes me super emotional. Last year, I was not able to finish any creative work that I started. This year, I entered the competition because some lovely friends encouraged me to. I am super grateful for them, and for you all. Y’all kept me going and your pieces were an inspiration! Yours is one of the pieces that I kept measuring my own with and aspiring to achieve. It is amazing!

  I’m really glad to hear that! ☺️ And honestly, the fact that you managed to finish something this year after not being able to finish the things you started last year is already something to be proud of. ☺️ I really appreciate you saying that! ☺️ But seriously, your piece has its own character and I’ve really enjoyed seeing it come together. I’m just happy you entered and kept pushing through. You’ve already come such a long way, so Good luck with the submission! : )

@cristiancarlone You are very right! After I am done with this project, my first order of business is start up a spreadsheet of all the problems and mistakes I had and relearning, or going back and trying to solve them. The list just keeps getting longer :D
