August 3, 2026. Today, I finally got some paint onto the K2! I started with my favourite black: Tamiya Lacquer NATO Black (LP-15).

I laid down a preshade over the model so that when the main camouflage colours are applied, the darker tones subtly show through the recesses, creating natural shadows and highlighting the details.

I also airbrushed the interior of the hull black. Since this kit doesn't feature a full interior, painting the inside solid black creates a dark illusion that way, when the driver figure is placed in the hatch, the darkness hides the hollow space beneath his shoulders and makes the placement look much more realistic.

While I had the airbrush running, I detached the jerry cans from the turret stowage basket so I could paint them separately tomorrow!
